Time marches on and sooner or later you realize it's marching across your face. Finally, I understood it was time to embrace what it is I truly love to do. I have the uncanny support of some really amazing people, so I picked up the brushes once again. Though it felt like a distant memory - much like riding a bike, I still had it.
The medium I primarily use is acrylic due to its versatility and quick drying characteristic. I love to paint on wood because it provides an interesting texture, along with the ease of hanging. I don't always like the hassle of framing a piece and I find that painting on wood establishes a unique effect on a wall once hung. Of course, this isn't to say that I don't frame art or paint on canvas, and you'll see how versatile an artist I can be. I have many ideas for pieces that I'm just dying to put brush to board on! They stem from experiences spanning over the last 8 years, specifically regarding trips to brilliant locales - everywhere from Scotland, Spain, Austria, Germany, Poland, and Vegas. Vegas...what a glorious place **like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to stay on my toes.** In the mean time, I'm enjoying a few studies of light, the figure, glass, liquid, etc. I'll add brief explanations of why I painted what I did in the gallery. After all, if work has no intention, it’s not work at all. It’s an empty motion. |
